Ingredients and Utensils
- 1 cup of coarsely ground coffee (approximately 100 grams)
- 4 cups of cold water (approximately 1 liter)
- French press
- Coffee filter or fine mesh strainer (optional)
- Ice (optional)
- Milk or sweetener to taste (optional)
Instructions
Grind the Coffee:
Use DELICOTTE coffee and grind it coarsely. The grind size should be similar to sea salt to prevent it from passing through the French press filter.Add the Coffee to the French Press:
Pour the ground coffee into the bottom of the French press.Add Cold Water:
Pour 4 cups of cold water over the ground coffee in the French press. Make sure all the coffee is saturated. You can do this slowly and in circular motions to ensure even saturation.Stir the Mixture:
Use a wooden or plastic spoon to gently stir the mixture, ensuring all the coffee grounds are well submerged in the water.Place the Lid:
Place the French press lid with the plunger pulled up. Do not press it down yet.Refrigerate:
Place the French press in the refrigerator and let it steep for 12 to 24 hours. The longer you leave it, the stronger the cold brew will taste.Press the Plunger:
After the steeping time, remove the French press from the refrigerator and slowly press the plunger down to filter the coffee.Serve:
If you prefer, you can pass the cold brew through a coffee filter or fine mesh strainer to remove any remaining sediment. Pour the cold brew into a glass with ice. You can add milk, cream, or sweetener to taste.Store the Rest:
The remaining cold brew can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
Enjoy your refreshing homemade cold brew!
